Some hobbies to pursue

In the past, when someone asked what my hobbies were, I felt embarrassed to say "I don't have any".  I didn't want to admit that what I did was raise kids, clean my home, cook, and make sure everyone stayed on schedule.  Silly me, because that was a job.  And along the way, I did learn a thing or two and develop some hobbies, which technically are anything you do outside of your primary occupation, in your own leisure time.

enjoying alone time with an adult bevvy - that's one I like, too

For me that is:
Sewing and crafting
Jigsaw and word puzzles, card playing, and reading
Walking, meditation, journaling
Writing - on both of these blogs
Home maintenance, sprucing, and a bit of decorating

What new thing do I want to learn about? Birdwatching would be fun, as would possibly gardening or landscaping.  I would like to learn to swim (I'm still dragging my feet on lessons, though) and I'm working on getting out and meeting more people.  Got any suggestions for me?  What do you do as hobby?

  1. From your posts I’d add that you enjoy music and going to concerts. I’ve had lots of hobbies over the years but need to expand again as my main ones are reading, writing & walking plus Pilates. Lots of drawing, painting, needlework of many kinds, traveling or exploring new places where I live, going to the theater and art shows.

    1. Oh, I guess I could add live music and other events - I have actually done a bunch of those this year. I feel like adding more hobbies outside of the house would be a good thing for me.

  2. I keep saying I'm going to do photography for myself. I don't have a great eye, but it's a good hobby for getting out and about. I'm horrible at crafting, sewing, and now it seems gardening. Taking those off the list of hobbies though I really would like vegetables to grow.

    1. I would say that if you find something you are really interested in, just keep trying until you master it! The trick for me is finding things that really light me up.

    2. I think that is the trick for all of us at all our stages of life.
